Come and explore the little medieval villages and the towns of the Emporda (as this part of the Costa Brava is known locally), set in a network of idyllic landscapes to lose oneself in all year round. Enjoy a long walk without having to worry about your luggage, we will transport it for you.   



Wonderful paths, along the coast, medieval castles, cliffs and lovely coves, all seasoned with the traditional Catalan cuisine. This gentle walking holiday follows the well signaled GR92 coastal path and the Cami de Ronda, one of the loviest routes in Costa Brava made up of old coastguards' and farmers' trails tat hug the coastline. Parts cut accross well-used beaches or follow a road for a short distance. They are often the best -or only- way to reach some of the more isolated coves. 

This holiday includes 7 hotel nights based on half board, luggage transfer between each hotel and a road book (containing a walking map and route notes). It is pleasant to walk all year round, specially for spring (from March to June) and autumn (from September to November) .

Starting Point: S'Agaro is an upmarket resort on the Costa Brava built in the early 1920's. S'Agaro was popular with movie stars such as Walt Diney, Charles Chaplin, Orson Welles, Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Peter Sellers an Sean Connery.

Add to that political figures like British ex-prime minister Edward Heath  and the King of Spain Juan Carlos. 

Day 1: The first day follows the coastal path called el Cami de Ronda. It one of the loviest routes in Costa Brava, made up of old coastguards and farmers trails tat hug the coastline. Parts cut accross small and intimate sandy coves. You walk accross Platja d'Aro, Sant Antoni de Calonge and Palamos harbours. After walking Palamos sea promenade, you reach La Fosca cove.

Hotel: The 3 star Hotel Ancora is located few metres from the peaceful beach of La Fosca. With 46 rooms, modern facilities, local and international excellent cuisine. 

Day 2: This coastal path is one of the scenic high sport of your Costa brava walking holiday. From La Fosca cove you walk accross Mediterranean woods of pine, olive and oak trees, passing several lovely sandy coves. You follow the well signaled GR92 route all the  way to Calella de Palafrugell. Calella de Palafrugell, a cheerfully informal fishing village hemmed in by the hillside against a chain of small beaches.

With a good selection of restaurants and bars squeezing into a few metres of land this is a popular choice with the more discerning visitors who like some beach — but not too much — with their coastal holiday. 

The peaceful 3 star Hotel Sant Roc was built in 1954, set directly on a cliff top overlooking the sea. Its position is unbeatable and is only 300 metres from the centre of the village. The hotel boasts a magnificent terrace and a wooded garden set right on a cliff top. 

It has fantastic views over the bay of Calella de Palafrugell and its coves. It also has a car park directly in front of the hotel. Hotel Sant Roc offers 47 rooms, most with sea views. All the bedrooms are fitted with a full equipped bathroom, air conditioning, satellite television, telephone, security box and terrace or balcony.

The air conditioned restaurant with its views of Calella de Palafrugell offers a high quality daily menu, its specialities being Catalan and International cuisine.

The Hotel also offers a bar, which is open all day and until the early hours of the morning. Here you can enjoy some peaceful, relaxing moments either in the garden contemplating the sea or in the comfortable spacious lounges.

Hotel Sant Roc garden overlooks the bay of Calella de Palafrugell where during the summer season dinners, parties, dances and other diverse activities are held.

Day 3: Take some time to explore the inland market town of Palafrugell, the wonderful botanic garden on Cap Roig and relax in Calella de Palafrugell sandy coves. From Calella, you walk half-hour along the coast to Llafranc, past several beaches where you can stop for a swim.
 
Hotel:
The 3 star family run Hotel Llevant is situated right on the sea front promenade of the typical fisherman's village of Llafranc. Hotel Llevant is a small, family run hotel offering guests elegant facilities in its 24 rooms and excellent cuisine.

Day 4: This walk has some challenging sections and a mixture of coastal and inland stretches. Tou start by reaching the Sant Sebastia lighthouse, an excellent viewpoint.

You then have a wonderful coastal section from the lovely rocky cove of Cala Pedrosa, along the coast of Tamariu to Aiguablava Cove and Begur.

Hotel: The 3 star Hotel Rosa is a small, family run hotel located in the centre of the lovely old city of Begur, in the very heart of the Costa Brava. Hotel Rosa is also located only few minutes from its coves, some of the most beautiful coves of the Mediterranean coastline.

Hotel Rosa is a comfortable resort and, although a 3 star, you will be impressed with the quality of accommodation provided. Hotel Rosa offers 23 comfortable rooms, all with fully equipped bathroom, air conditioning, television and telephone.

Rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished in classic style. Breakfast is taken in the family owned restaurant accross the road. We are sure quests will be satisfied with the quality of the traditional and international cuisine. Hotel Rosa is an excellent base to explore the seaside villages and surrounding area.

Day 5:
Explore the cobbled streets of the inland village of Begur, a fortified hilltop settlement of immense charm. If you want to walk, visit the surrounding coves. Sa Riera, an unpretentious village cuddling a generous beach, with a few unfussy bars and restaurants and a seasonal population of Catalan second-homers.

Next to the south is Cala d’Aiguafreda, so sheer the beach almost disappears, but popular with divers. Further on is Sa Tuna - with its lovely terrace restaurant Sa Tuna on the beach  - perhaps the most beautiful of all, with pine-green hills dropping into emerald waters and cradling a small sheltered beach. Platja Fonda, Fornells and Aiguablava continue to the south. 

Hotel: The 3 star Hotel Rosa, Begur.

Day 6: This demanding walk includes a mixture of coastal and inland walking. The path leads through pine-clad hills to Tamariu, whose promenade, crescenting around a lovely sandy bay, is known for its restaurants.

Hotel: The 3 star Hotel Hostalillo is located in one of the most beautiful spot on the Costa Brava. Surrounded by pine trees, on the coast. 70 rooms with en suite bathroom and television, garden overlooking the sea, wide patios, meeting room, bar and restaurant.
